Checking Fixture Installation and Calibration Techniques
The installation accuracy of the fixture directly affects the reliability of the test results. The following steps must be followed:
Dial Indicator Installation: Check the connection of the dial indicator base. After pre-tightening with the fastening nut, adjust the scale to zero and test the stability of the probe.
Fixture Fixing: After cleaning and inspecting the bottom of the fixture, fix it with pressure blocks and pads, ensuring the contact surface is slightly higher than the fixture to avoid errors due to poor contact during testing.
Position Calibration: Attach the dial indicator to the spindle using the magnetic base. Control the movement by turning the handwheel and observe the pointer runout (must be controlled within 0.01mm). If the runout exceeds the limit, gently tap the fixture with a rubber mallet to adjust the position until the accuracy requirements are met.
Special Scenario Handling Techniques
For unexpected problems during testing, targeted measures must be taken:
Insufficient Clamping Points: If the mortar joints in the brickwork are too full, preventing the fixture from being fixed, use a hammer to create notches to create clamping points. Control the hammering force during operation to avoid damaging the structure of the object being tested.
Fixture contamination: Cleaning mortar residue from the wooden strips of the fixture can prevent test interference. It is recommended to use a soft brush or compressed air for cleaning to prevent hard objects from scratching the fixture surface.
